I took the new tyres up the freeway today with a caravan and didn’t hear the tyres at all. Very happy about that

I should add, they come with a two year warranty which says if you get a puncture and it can’t be repaired they will be replaced. Seems pretty good

Thanks Paul, forgot about that one.
From what people that have used both have told me the Falken is better off road.

Interestingly my step dad drove their D2 all over the Territory on 109H tyres, often dragging an off road camper. (Mum and he live in Alice Springs)
They've explored the Hart's Range and East and West McDonnell's extensively going well off the beaten path and places where there were no visible tracks anymore just exploring.
They had Toyo's go eggy, but the cheapy GT Radials survived ok.

Edit. Add the Maxxis 980 to the XL/114 load rating list too

Just remembered,Tombie loved those 697's.Hated BFG.

Yes its weird what some get away with, and others have no luck at all.
    Probably due to driving style,pressures,etc.

One of my brothers has gone from BFG KO to 697,and loves the 697,he lives in Darwin, has a Prado.

One of the other brothers ran Coopers on his D1 for years, never had an issue, but many on here hate them.

Many on the Tojo forums love the later Toyo's,particularly on the 70 series.

For me i use the heavily load rated BFG,which seem fantastic and forgiving as i don't always have the correct pressure for the conditions.Never had an issue, had them on the D2's as well, one puncture in 20yrs,good old tech screw.
But they are droney at certain speeds in the D4,where a mate has them on has LC 200,no noise at all any speed.

    Good luck with your choice.

Yep, and Mike also really likes Toyo's and had nice things to say about Falkens.
Toyo's have a really good rep in the Territory all round.
I actually have one of my step dad's buggered Toyo's here and it's actually a 106H! as were the GT's.

I just found Dunlops Grandtrek AT3G is also a 114XL rated tyre in that size. And a bit of useless info for everyone, Dunlop Australia is owned by Goodyear, but the Japanese manufactured Dunlops are made by Sumitomo (Falken's parent company) for Goodyear.
