Why the heck would I want to drive with it lifted for normal use? XLifter vs Llams

No, I don’t drive lifted unless offroad.
    It Burns more fuel,
It’s less stable especially if you need to swerve.
Unless aligned at lift will chop tyres,

As for aesthetics - it’s a Land Rover, not some naff GU. XLifter vs Llams

Either unit will suit your use.

And the ride quality lifted is also not good.

Funny - with the D3 I actually prefer the ride quality when the height is raised.

Yep - and now approaching 160K so definitely due for replacement.

But even when I first bought the car, back at 90K, coming from a D2 with ACE I always found the D3 ride too soft - more D1/RRC like which was LR’s intention with the D3.

I am hoping a set of D4 struts will also make it firmer.

They will, and that would be why you like the firmer ride on the D3 originals when lifted.
