    D4 2.7 Caterpillar Starter Battery?

Looks like the starter battery is on the way out.
In my D2, I've had a very good run with Caterpillar batteries (recommended by Toombie way back for excellent service in vibration scenarios).

Anyone tried them in their D4? (mine is a 2.7 if that's relevant).

    Alternatively, any top quality recommendations?

Batteries in particular I treat as a primary need, and DazzaTD5 said ACDelco have a good reputation.

Varta seem to be standard with recent Defenders I have seen.

My ACDelco is 4 yrs old and still going strong. Its connected to one of Tim traxides DBS and has been run down to 12v plenty of times. I would certainly get another.

    Cheers Ean

Hi Ean - which version - presumably AGM?

    Delkor Calcium 60038

Like you I used a Caterpillar in my D2 and didn't have any issues. The D3 had a new battery the day before I bought it and unfortunately I had no say in that. When that dies just on 2 years later I went on the recommendation of Roversmith and got a Delkor Calcium. The Delkor battery finder turns up two options - the Calcium and also an AGM. No issues with it the last 20 months or so.

I've had a Delkor LN5 in my best for 5 years now and its still going strong.

Cant remember the battery that was in it, but it didnt last all that long after I purchased the vehicle.
