Our D4 is 07/2011 we had Hitachi compressor replaced with the AMK updated compressor.

Pretty sure Aussie delivered 2.7l didn't receive the AMK compressor, only the 3.0l, our 2.7l D4 was one of the last in Australia, 2.7l was discontinued in the UK in 2010.

Remove the plastic cover and check. If its got a red and a blue air connectors it's a Hitachi. My D4 MY11 3.0 SDV6SE has the Hitachi unit

So a late 2014 Disco HSE would have an AMK compressor?

Definitely, anything 2012 and up have an AMK.

I’m sure I recall reading some that had AMK replacements under warranty were switched back to Hitachi. Best to take a look to see what you have.

I have two MY12 D4 TDV6 here with the 2.7L TDV6 engines that would say otherwise...

I've only had cause to investigate one of ours air compressors and it was a Hitachi unit in our 2012 model - perhaps you mean anything later than 2012 and up have an AMK? 2012 might be a bitsa year where a bit of both were used and so needs to be examined case by case individually.
