Different set up. No BMS to reset.

Cascading errors can be a sign of alternator age, how long ago was your alternator changed, if at all? And how many kms on your D3?

Thanks Tombie, was told its had an alternator done already, thats not to say its not due for another. I just bought the vehicle it has 172k on it, the battery was done a few weeks ago, it hasn't gone flat so I assume the alternator is working but I'll put my meter on it and check

There are 2 earth studs just in front of the main battery box , passenger side , on the D3 , I assume the D4 is the same. I remember playing with these once and never tightened them and the cascade of faults was crazy, most of them were related to g/box and transfer from memory , but I remember the car dropped to the bump stops. They shouldn't get disturbed changing the battery , but worth a quick look.

    Cheers Ean

No worries, I live in Bayview , and work at the duckpond near the city so don't venture out much whilst the fishing fleet is in town but always happy to catch up with fellow Darwinites. Work will slow down next week so will be a bit more free after then. I will PM my number shortly

    Cheers Ean

Update. Vehicle had the diagnostics on it and front left “new” aftermarket ABS sensor is dead. All other systems tested fine. New genuine sensor ordered and will be in Monday. Local indie says he would mostly would never use anything but genuine parts but especially so for sensors. Will post result on Monday.

New genuine wheel speed sensor finally arrived today and fitted. All seems to be behaving so far. It will get an 800klm trial tomorrow. Here’s hoping.

Well 700 klms today and all seems well in the world. Still surprised that a non genuine sensor could behave so badly. Anyway proof is in the pudding. Local indie believes You should change them all when one fails. Good news in this is that the gap ID tool was bang on the money in its fault recognition.
Thanks all who suggested various things to check
    cheers

Glad you sorted it. Avoid aftermarket for a lot of items. cooling Hoses and sensors being 2 of the items you always go genuine. 2014 3 amigoes issue

Just some info for you. The IID tool cant recognise the fault, all it does is interrogate the ECUs and display the result. Please keep that in mind going forward.

Also worthy of note - some faults will display symptoms rather than the fault itself. It can be an art to translate some times.
