That's a bit more like it. Can't remember what I paid - it was a few years ago now. But it was under $10 per kit at the time (also from Barbagallo).
Given that Barbagallo also owns Southern Land Rover - I think someone is having a lend .................. Definitely pays to shop around. When they had Gold City Land Rover up here (subsidiary of Southern Land Rover) - their pricing was also pretty steep for parts etc.

I had mine replaced in year one after a Linfox truck added some lines to it.

The screen has ben set back further than the original fitment and makes noise it never did when original.

Next time (theres a small crack slowly working out at the moment) it will be done right or refused.

I had The windscreen (D4 2016) replaced by OBriens and the auto wipers would not work. OBriens replaced with another one and the wipers worked as they should. But the A-Pillar plastic cover would come loose - I had them replaced with new clips. Annoyingly the windscreen vibrates and buzz’s at certain speeds since the replacement. Next time I break a windscreen I will get the repairs done by a Land Rover specialist.

I mentioned in an earlier post that the bad fitting of the trim may be caused by distortion of the 'A' pillar surface where the clips attach. This is caused when the trim is removed as considerable force may be required. The fix is simply done by tapping the 'A' pillar locations down flat again where they may have raised up. This with new clips should have the trim fitting nice and tight against the screen and the noise eliminated entirely. Nick

My local O’Briens did mine and they advised they always use new clips as the old ones invariably break when removing the trim. I reckon they did a great job, no bubbles in the rain sensor, no noise or vibration from the trim at any speed. Even the lower cowling seats and seals properly. The glass is OEM. Thumbs up from me.

My screen was replaced 3 months ago. The Obrien clips (yellow) do not fit properly and they do not hold the Pillar cover down. My snorkel is attached to that bit of plastic and I was wondering why it was"flapping" when i drove. The LR clips cost $15 per side. And they are slightly different to the Obriens ones. They are a little bigger in the shaft and the clip wings are closer to the backing plate. As such they hold the plastic closer and flush with the Windscreen. I now carry one side as a spare in case I break a screen in the outback. That is so the Snorkel side will be at least fitted correctly with the correct parts. Sometimes the LR part must be used and in this case these plugs are such an item.

I too have felt the buzz..

On a trip to Albany from Perth I got a chipped/cracked screen. I had heard it could be a problematic fix so I took it to the main dealer south of the river where I'd had all my services since new. As it is an HSE with auto lights, and wipers etc I didn't want an after market replacemenet. I was assured that they would take care of it and they only use a firm from north of the river who they trusted and did all their work. $1300:00 later I picked it up and within a couple of days noticed the buzz.. it kicked in when I reached 100kms or close on a gusty day. Close examination revealled a gap at the top of the pillar covers, both sides. Phoned them up and arranged for the service manager to have a look to see what the problem was. He examined the pillar covers and said they were broken and asked if I had had the windscreen replaced recently, and offered to glue them in place for me. I said they had replaced the screen and I wanted them to replace the broken parts. He checked their parts and said they only had one cover in stock and would call me when they had them in. After a month I figured they'd had enough time to get the parts in and chased them up. The service reception lady said the hold up was because they were trying to contact my insurance company to claim the cost from them. I thought that was strange and told them so as I had paid them for the repair. I asked them who I was insured with as my broker delt with the claim and didn't really know who it was. She said she would get back to me. Couple of more weeks and I was told that the main manager had said they would pay for one if I paid for the other. How much are they I asked? $160 each side. "That would be retail price, right? Regardless, you broke them while the car was under your charge, you have to replace them". Eventually they conceeded and replaced them. This immediately stopped the buzz, it was so good to have a quiet car again. Three weeks later I got an email and text letting me know my car was due for a service and asking if I would like to book it in. I have had my car since new, picked it up in Jan 2011, done 160k, it's probably ready for all the major services, nearest off road it's done is crossing the mediun strip. It won't be ever be serviced in Cannington again while I own it.

Mine is similar vintage and almost the same km on the clock. I've recently been getting quotes for transmission service and replacement of timing belts. At the moment, tossing up between the other dealership down in Perth (where I bought mine and who have done every service on it to date except for the last minor one done up here in Kal) or the local ARB / Repco Offroad accessories shop and mechanical business. They have both quoted very similar prices for the job. The local business would save me travel and accommodation cost, but I'm not sure that I'm confident enough to give them this major work to do. The dealership in Perth would cost me more - but I have had very good service from them since buying the vehicle and I trust them.

Bit far from home for you (and I) but for OCD service, I fully recommend and use Indy Darren (DazzaTD5 on here) in Rivervale for any LR work. He only deals in LR and Jeeps.

And his prices WILL be more competitive quite apart from doing the job right the first time.
