    Spare wheel winder broken

    Having only ever used the winder twice (once to wind down and once to wind up). the damn thing jambed today and I had to cut the wire to get the tyre off. I am now after a winding mechanism if any body has a spare one for sale. Otherwise I guess its a rear swing spare wheel kit. Again happy to also consider one of those if anybody has one for sale. After taking the unit off the car I drilled out the rivets and it seems that the cable had cross threaded on the plastic spooler. As a result it had then caused the cable to get a kink in it and then it jambed. Please PM me if you have any item that might suit my requirements. David

    Ive just taken mine off. Its come from a D4.

    To further assist it has the following numbers stamped on it 5H22-1A486-CD and 130416. I also live in inner Melbourne.

    Friend of mine got one given to her free by the people that fit long range tanks and RWC's. You could try enquiring at those sorts of places, you might get lucky.
