Try disconnecting the lower intercooler hose from the secondary air control valve and draining out the oil thats in there, after the car has sat for a while, overnight maybe. Access is easy - turn the steering full lock right and you remove the lower plastic shroud inside the wheel well. Last saturday i collected about 1/4 cup. Just thinking that the turbo is suffering because its ingesting a lot of oil from the intake system.

A day's light driving with the original single drain shouldn't be enough driving to produce smoke the next day after clearing it unless doing a lot of high speed light throttle cruising, let alone with the twin drain fitted. Sounds as though it needs more investigation, the first of which should be Eric's suggestion of draining the valve and I/C.

I will give this ago this afternoon when I finish work.

Another concern is that when my wife drives it (Like a Nanna) even if its just for the day then I drive it the exhaust produces a fair amount of smoke. Then seems to clear and then is the same the next day etc etc etc.

I do not think it should be producing the amount of exhaust smoke as it is. Maybe its just me
I wonder if your wife notices - mine would not - it is just a car.

I haven't had the drain mod done yet but about to. 90kms

I can predictably produce the smoke from standstill with moderate throttle after a fairly short light cruise .... It has been handy for tailgaters but seems a bit OTT in the middle of the city....

    Maybe something else is wrong.
