If i had a D4 i would fit one behind the LH fake intake vent and hinge it, air fitting and anderson plug.

Fitted a gloss black grille, not sure I'm sold on glossy and might paint it satin black.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b947f2d76c.jpg

I thought about that, but:
a). One of the reasons for the central placement at the front (and rear) was to minimise lengths of air hose required. I've thought long and hard, and decided that rather than a vehicle mounted fit, I'm putting the compressor in a box, and using it front and rear (or elsewhere) as required. Allows easier upgrading etc, and I reckon a single length of hose of about 1.5M will do me.
b.). The fake vent option would, I suspect, inevitably lead to a lazy or rushed moment where I lay air hose or cable across the hood to do something on the other side of the car, and scratch it
I had a disturbing experience the other day. I shut the drivers door and pressed the inside of door lock. Car would not start with 'key fob not found' on the screen. Placed fob from out of my pocket to under steering column. Still no go after multiple tries. So thinking what did I do to precipitate this. Decided to unlock drivers door via its' switch. Bingo first go start.
Should I be concerned? Is it the stop light switch / door locking switch at fault , on its last legs - or ?
cheers Neil
It happened to me on my way home.
Was passing a truck near Merrima and a loud pop and lots of black smoke. I knew immediately what it was so pulled into a safe place and found the left intake manifold had blown.
Have NRMA Premium care so will get a ride back home to be fixed by my great Indi,Mills-Thom in coffs. It is now hurry up and wait!
Bugger
Had the right side already gone? Unusual for the left to go first…
We had ours blow whilst on holiday, towing a camper trailer (1.5t max). Still got us there, drove the beach, drove home (3 hours or so).
Wasn’t fast, but she got us there. Love that car.
I had both done about 20k ago and I thought would be good for another while yet. 30500k now
I was passing a truck going uphill just a few k’s out of Merriwa when it blew. I was over 550k away from home and had NRMA Premium so a ride on a tilt tray back home.
My fantastic Indi, Mills-Thom Motors will have the part on Tuesday and will get it done for me then. It is still a great car to drive.
I suspect replaced 200K kms ago and now at 305K kms.
