Replaced the TyreDogs TPMS with a new set from Repco that also supports an additional pair of sensors for the camper tyres. The original TyreDogs were ok but one failed on the last trip when the outer casing cracked, and of course it was the unmonitored rear tyre that blew on the Oodnadatta Track. I’ve also bought a set of Kings rock lights for my daughter’s Navara to go on the tub racks. They alternate switching between white and amber. Will do a comparison on bug effectiveness when we camp together.Quote:

Then I put some front mudflaps on, using Scott's posts as a reference. For those who haven't had to solve the problem before, here's a good tip for when you need to drill a hole in something once its offered up. The problem here is that I needed to use the installed screw on the car, but didn't want to spend all day making templates, testing and adjusting etc. My solution is to target the screwhole with my laser (first picture.). Then having screwed the mudflap in place using the other hole, I can drill at the marked crosshairs. Quick, accurate, no stress.

Made and fitted a pulse buster for the LED's on my caravan, when testing it i found when i turned it off that i wasn't getting the usual flickering of the indicators.
Instead they both would flash at a normal rate when indicating left or right ?
The relays prevent the pulsing, the resistors tell the car the van is attached. I assume (dangerous I know) your switch merely disconnects the resistors, leaving the relays in place.Quote:

150km from home the Amigos arrived. Rolled into refuel and restart- how was that for timing? Power off or dying for 5km at least. No power steering but brakes working fine. The last km at sub 40km was interesting.
I had allowed fuel to get to last 5 litres and also noted the electronic brake controller was flicking on and off 200km before the Amigos arrived. No electric brakes on the boat trailer?
Restart had everything fine - 1 km later they returned. Removed brake control with shifter in hand for a hard reset. Hard reset not needed.
Home again but now in ISO as one of my crew tested + as we got home [bawl]
The LED trailer lights were missing my resistor which was on my other trailer. Easily fixed by unplugging the brake controller.
No fish in my boat. A barrel Head and frame was in the bin- Pic to Mario - the Barrel was a 140KG bluefin tuna - bet they had a huge smile and very sore arms and back after that beast.

I used a dual pole press button switch and separate circuits for each and i used the wiring diagram that Bulletman posted in the D3 led lights thread, its possible that i swapped the earths around by mistake but that would end with the same result i'd expect.Quote:
