Yep, re-bushing all the rear arms including the hub carriers, both front uppers with balljoints as well. Full track rod kit and then a TC and diffs fluid change, then probably get front bearings if they look suspect then new struts probably in the new year.

The front passenger side brake with the sensor are still 4mm so no issues there. My only guess is that the disk or pad on the right outer had an issue.

Even if the calipers slide freely, there's a good chance the piston inside doesn't move all that well. Drain and remove the pistons, fit new seals and fill, bleed and should be good to go. Did mine when I replaced all thr 10yo rubber hoses, the back of the pistons were gummed up with the inside of the old hoses.

Make sure you open the kits when they arrive, island sent me trw kits that were missing the dust boots, I had to reuse and order another set. Not their fault. They were unopened. They still didn't want to know me but.

    That apple smell...

So I've been stupidly busy for a while now and had a strange apple smell in the Disco. Nothing bad, I quite like apples, but it wasn't there last 6 years and doesn't go away.
I keep a clean car, regularly vacuum, clean the leather etc.
Obvious thing is a forgotten apple, but couldn't find one.
Well guess what I found today... yep half rotten in the rear seat well under the 3rd row of seats.

Lesson- look for the obvious solution..

My wife is 'Mrs Houseproud' if I leave anything out in the house - but her ability to hide assorted pieces of rotting fruit in cars is extraordinary... Apple cores, banana skins, orange peel. You name it, its been left to 'sweeten the aroma' in our cars. I love finding it by touch when my fingers plunge into a rotting mulch as I reach for a pen or whatever in various storage locations....

Luckily you dont have rats around.

A mate had them chew through the plastic fresh air grill, then through the filter, then into the glovebox and ate all of the 25 minties, that were in an unopened packet.

And all that happened in one night.

Wife was heading out and told me a large tree branch came down on the my car, just clipped the tailgate and broke the bloody back wiper again - only just replaced the motor earlier this yearafter some timber fell back and stripped the plastic gears in the motor .

I found some STL files to 3D print a gear so hopefully they are the same between disco and RR.

Mine bought us safely home from a 3 month trip towing the 2.5 ton van, Vic through SA, over to WA,up the coast, zig zag to GCR,around the centre, down to Adelaide and home.
15000kn 0f which about 2000 dirt road and some pretty good 4wding, averaged 14l / 100 without a single fault or issue except the dodgy windscreen mould which had aftermarket clips, standard LR clips fixed that
Now for the complete service and check over with a complete detail to bring it back to the amazing piece of mechanical engineering it is

Discovery 4 3.0 HSE MY13 ECB Bull bar, winch, spot lights, aux fuel tank, Kaymar rear bar, duel wheel carriers, 18 tuff ant wheels 265/65/18 BFG KO2's for play
