I have big hands and big forearms, sadly getting to those top nuts on the rear struts forces me to slide my arm along some rough surfaces - even with the most suitable tools.

Older skin and these conditions always cuts me open!

Wouldn’t have it any other way!

SSB HVT-50D, 2yr 9months old, must be on its last legs disappointingly. When the traxide isolated them, it dropped immediately to 11v.
    Purple is the Aux.
The spike is me starting it.

As I bought it online I’m probably fresh out of luck with warranty. I’ll buy local next time.

Have you given it a good charge, overnight at least, with a charger while it is isolated from the other battery?

Unfortunately a “regen” apparently will not work on an AGM battery but maybe worth a go at last resort,if your charger has the setting.

My thoughts are the small amount of current the Traxide device draws doesn’t do the batteries any favours.I often have the device turned off, with a switch in the small earth wire,so can leave it turned off if I want to.

Likewise I bought my SSB HVT-70D on line and it was not long past 2 years when it went MIA. At the time I bought it no-one up here sold them so like you I didn't was almost $100 trying to return it. There is a seller her now so I'll get a 50 to replace it in April as I do not need the aux until the camping season begins again.

I regularly put it on charge, once a month, but I haven’t done it isolated.

out of interest why are you replacing the 70 with the 50?

my SS88Ti cranking battery is also just out of warranty and... underperforming. I contacted SSB who said they'd still look at it and to take it to one of their resellers on Craigieburn to get it looked at but I never got around to it - time poor at the moment and it's a long way to travel and I'd likely have to leave it with them for a few days...

They did say I could run a repair cycle on it even though it's an AGM battery so I might take it out and do that later when I have the chance.

Was out last night and noticed a low beam out. The fault logged tells me it has been out for >200km. Every other car I've owned has had a "bulb failure" warning on the dash. So it knows there's an important lamp out but isn't telling me.

I chose the 70 last time to have a bit more capacity when camping as the camper trailer 2 x 36Ah gel batteries in the camper trailer were beginning to get tired. I now have 2 x 50Ah Lithium in the camper so a 50 as the vehicle aux will suffice for my use.
