In answer to your questions; I think it is less about the AMK and more about the original Dunlop and then the Hitachi and their quality. Happy to be corrected by other though.

The kit for the AMK is not available in The Great South Land but is still available from 4x4 Air Seals:

AMK Air Suspension Compressor Air Dryer Filtration Standard Repair Kit excluding Electrical Exhaust solenoid - 4x4 Air Seals

That's what my Indy used in 2019.
Dunlop wasn't factory fitted, its another aftermarket part which would be better than a cheap chinese knockoff.

I stand corrected Your Honour I knew AMK wasn't original but that's all I've known in mine but knew that the other two have been referenced on the forum.

AMK is original and fitted around 2012 after the hitachi factory was wiped out.

Thanks for that info. Vehicle plated 06/06, I purchased 09/15 and by 04/19 the desiccant was dry and there was no powdering to it. Solenoid/Centre Valve subsequently replaced in 06/23.

FB member was kind enough to give me a pair of good struts dated 08/08/2019 Delphi so over 12 years newer than mine and are a vast improvement, even compressing them to get the bottom bolt in took a jack.
Rear top bolt is a pain to access but the tin snips made it easier, I cut the sides of the alignment slot to open it up.
You can just see the socket thru the opening.

What happened to your D3/D4 today?

On my list of possible worries how serious is the risk of injector failure on a TDV6 that’s getting close to 300k kms? Do they give warning?

There’s quite a lot of discussion on Toyota injectors failing in the D4D and needing scheduled replacement to avoid engine destruction.

This morning my Disco came up and told me I had a service due in 3150km. It’s never done that before. At best it would just say service due. I guess when I last took it into the Indy they changed the service interval from time to KM based, which I think is much cooler. Hopefully that sticks when I reset it with my GAP tool.

I wouldn't personally worry, they are reasonably robust, I've not heard of engine failure because of it.

Toyota injectors are notorious for failure, some resulting engine failure.

There’s a gap tool reading for an injector offset measurement if anyone knows how to interpret that as a health check.
