I've had one plugged in permanently for the last 7 years without a problem. GAP advise against but the reason is as described by PerthDisco as if the app is not disconnected the tool keeps looking for it and can drain your battery. I wrote to them about this and they confirmed this as the highlighted red text below shows>
"One of the guys on the forum said that heleaves his connected and makes sure he turns the BT app off. He also saidthat you were looking at a fix for the sleep problem. Is this correct? Ifhe is correct, could I leave the tool in and simply turn off the app as hesuggested? That would be correct. We do not release this informationpublicly since lots of customers will forget to kill the App."

Just completed a 10 hour country run and nothing went wrong with the EGRs deleted out of the cooling system.
Reading further Greame is correct in that the thermostats on the 2.7 EU4 EGR coolers don’t open till 75c so, in theory, there’s no additional warm up speed from the EGR just the restriction of flow in this ‘loop’. The heat is generated in the head which feeds the top radiator hose and matrix hose. The default setting of this EGR loop is actually closed until full operating temperature is achieved. The ecu must operate the EGRs only when engine is fully warmed up (makes sense).
All thermostats in the system allow a small % of coolant to flow when fully closed. Handy when draining the system.
Coolant temps on the open road with outside air ranging 7-19 through the day were around 91-93 at speeds of 110kmh++ with new radiator and thermostat. Oil temp tracks within a degree or two.
Compared to slow stop start city driving where temps build slowly to 70-80 getting up to 110kmh brings immediate rise in temperature!
From 70 through to 90s the temperature gauge sits fixed in the middle position.

SubscriberBest deal on hoses and Nissens radiator was LR Direct (the one you apply for a shipping quote and they send your a quote and a reference number seperately).
Some sell no name radiators so I wanted Nissens brand. Hoses are LR genuine kit.

Super ModeratorToday I hit a duck. The drivers side escutcheon for my front fog light disappeared with the puff of feathers. It also cracked the edge off my headlight washer nozzle. So if anyone knows of a D3 being wrecked with a standard bumper that has fog light escutcheons in place let me know.
Didn’t even get to eat the duck. Bastard!
