When disassembling something, I try to lay the parts out from left to right and top to bottom, like reading a book, that way I know which order they came out in.

When doing big projects I bag all the bits into different groups so each component has its bolts and bits all together not just everything in one big box

I have kinda too. Stuff on the ground came off on the ground. Stuff on the bench was when I was working at bench level. Stuff on the cowling- that was from when I was getting angry. I should probably get a better system.

You did well to keep the angry stuff so close, it it was me it may have been on the far side of the garage…

On the disco3 there is a very small hose at the bottom of the radiator that supplies the fuel cooler. It acts as a sump for radiator sludge along with the heater matrix and I blew a lot of crud out with an air hose. The intercooler I did engine degreaser and garden hose for the internals.

Flushed out the AC system and drained the old compressor. All healthy. No Black Death or muck at all. Decided to change the block coolant outlet while I was there. Is was falling apart. Hose on there was also failed as the o-ring had expanded to supersize. Ordered that cooling pipe. Now we wait. New compared to old and the bits that broke off on the bench.

Spent the day cleaning all the red dirt covered parts using CT-18 truck wash. That stuff is brilliant for getting off the red dirt.
I then pulled out the suspension compressor - my dear Hitachi that’s now done just shy of 400,000km. Gave it a desiccant and filters refresh to avoid the usual issues.

Thinking about rebuilding the valve blocks tomorrow as I have a kit on the shelf. In some regards I’m hesitant to do this as I don’t have an issue with them but it’s sitting there begging me. Sometimes it better to leave well enough alone What happened to your D3/D4 today?

Ordered a new radiator. Decided it’s 15 years old and while it’s all apart, might pay to.

CT18 is the GOAT. Been using it for 30 plus years was essential for dirt bike cleaning.

I use a cap full in a bucket for every wash and 10 to 1 in a pump bottle for wheels and wheel arches and dirty bits after any offroading.

Yeah I can’t believe it’s taken me to 50 years of age to use it. It just eats the red dirt and oils too. So much better than standard car washes (when you need to get rid of grime)

Just remember, CT18 strips wax and polish, so redo your surface treatment What happened to your D3/D4 today?
