    Problems after Holidays

    I've just returned from 4 weeks overseas and the car has decided to go into Restricted Performance and shows the engine light on the dash. Prior to leaving I plugged my charger into the rear Anderson plug to keep the batteries topped up. I have a Traxide kit and it's set to shared mode. On return I've disconnected the charger, started that car and the warnings popped up. I checked both batteries with a multi-meter and Aux (Yellow Top) is 13.3V but the main was only 12.1V. It's less than 12 months old. The car started ok but when stopping it had more of a shudder than usual (maybe oil had not circulated yet). I have a Gap tool but for some reason it will not connect to the phone app so can not give you any fault codes at the moment. Removed battery cables and did a hard reset (connected cables for about 10sec) but no change. When removing the negative, only removed the cable and not all the other bits connected to the terminal, is that ok? The main battery is currently on direct charge (+ve to terminal, -ve to chassis and multi-meter says 14.7V) until morning so will try again but thought I would put out a request for info now just in case.

    Try and fix your GAP connectivity issue as having the fault code will make it worth the while.

    Agreed but can't do it for some reason. Sent an email to GAP for help.

    OK, got the GAP tool to work by reinstalling software on phone. Faults are;

    P010D-00 (AF) Mass or volume air flow B - circuit high
    ( on 05-10-2019 14:34:45 at 105419 km )

    P0658-11 (AF) Actuator supply voltage A - circuit low - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground
    ( on 22-08-2019 11:06:29 at 104772 km )

    Cleared all faults and started car. Following error still occurs

    RDCM-Rear Differential
    P0658-11 (AF) Actuator supply voltage A - circuit low - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground
    ( on 22-08-2019 11:06:29 at 104772 km )

    I've read the manual and this specific error code relates to transmission control module which is part of the valve body in the transmission and not serviceable but the error mentions the rear diff. I have an ediff fitted so not sure what really is the issue.

    Given the manual mention the transmission is the problem I have tried shifting gears, selecting different off road modes, low/high range, clearing faults as I go but no joy.

    Apart from a look at the diff to see if wires are hanging lose I'm stumped for a solution.

    Ideas?

    Righto, despite me clearing all the faults and then only having the Rear Diff fault constantly returning it turned out to be the MAF sensor as the faulty part. Replaced this and all is good.
