D4 Headlight bulbs (bi xenon) replacement? + spotlights

    hello,

I know this have been covered - sorry for the re-hash however have a few specifics to add
    have (still) 2011 D4 HSE SDV6 with bi Xenon headlights. I don't drive to much - wife does however...occasionally I do ..
Currently fitting a Land Rover full front protection bar to it. In driving recently noticed the lights may not be as good as they were when new ... its older now yes I get it, they may be tired. Compare this to the 2016 Ranger Wildtrak i have - the DIsco lights are very good. (In fact I am not sure how the light on the Ranger are ADR compliant - shocking...but I have a good set of spotties on the bull bar so that's why i am asking about the D4 lights)

    • Any way - is it worth replacing the bulbs?
    • Bi xenon - is that just a PIA to do/cost?
    • After market ones... or factory - where from?
    • Note the Traxide wiring loom upgrade.. does that apply to the bi xenons? I see it noted H4 plugs - pretty sure the bi xenons are different?
    • Note Traxide also have a wiring loom for the spotties (LED) I am intending on putting on the D4 bar once installed.

Appreciate any thoughts/experience on the headlight (bulb) replacements. And or spotlight installs - particularly the spotlight switch placement.

FWIW - the D$ will stay in the family for as long it remains .... road worthy..

    No need to upgrade loom.

Only use genuine / original figment brand IMO - too many problems with cheaper replacements.

Replace both - or the colour will be different between sides.

Look at a Stedi, Copperhead H7 upgrade for the inner beam light also.

Could be that the lenses themselves are a bit less than brand new? Can make a bit difference to light transmission. I've not tried any but there's headlight restoration products out there.
Now 2016 D4 HSE 'Leo' and Steve the Triumph Speed Twin
    Then 2010 D4 3.0 HSE 'James'
Then 2010 RRS TDV8 'Roger' w traxide DBS, UHF, Cooper Zeons, Superchips remap
    Then 2010 D4 TDV6 'Jumbo' w traxide DBS
    First love 2002 D2 TD5 'Disco Stu'

Leave the Bi xenon in, PITA and $$$$ to replace.
Chuck the old H7 halogens that are sitting next to the bixenons and fit the copperheads as Tombie says. Huge difference.

Tombi/Eric - assume the Disco has standard H7 fittings? note Stedi have h7 and H7-1 and 3,5,6 ?

    thanks
