    Diesel Fuel Filler/Protector

My yellow fuel filter thingy has a broken prong, and I've recently noticed a few adverts for an adapter which is supposed to stop you filling the car with petrol. I'm not likely to stuff it (famous last words?) but another driver might.
Any thoughts on the usefulness or otherwise of these - if in fact they will fit a D3/4? Solo Diesel is one such product.

The yellow reset tool is just that.

If someone does go to incorrectly fuel you’ll need it to reset the filler (there is already a preventer in the filler point).

I’d suggest getting a replacement because once triggered it’s a PITA!

Some servos use the incorrect size nozzles and this can set it off also.

I no longer need the one I have (fitted a Brown Davis second tank that comes with a dual filler neck). You can have mine if you want. Just PM your address.

I remember triggering it once when I was half asleep. I picked up the unleaded, stuck it partly in, came to my senses before pulling the trigger. Unbeknownst to me I triggered it. I subsequently fought with filling for a number of tanks before realising. The flap isn’t that obvious. I’ve said before, shame there’s no sensor to flash it up on the dash. It was a little tricky to release but worked ok.

On a trip with our old club one member was having big probs. fuelling up so I looked down the hole and lo and behold, the flap was up. Out came my tool and it was fixed in seconds.
You can do the same thing with a wire coat hanger with it bent to give you a couple of prongs to insert in the holes.
