Ok. For the reasonable sum of $20 per side plus postage, Clearview sent me the adapter harness for the D3, as the mirrors came off a Rangie/D4 which have different plugs. So all fitted now.
They do power adjust manually, but haven't checked whether they adjust with the memory seats although I suspect they won't as they don't angle down in reverse either. If I get the time and inclination, I'll sus out why this is so.
They take some getting used to!
Because they are wider, the mirror surface is out further from the car as well as a further rearward than standard. The result is that one has to turn ones head further or glance a bit further than before.
Also, I'm getting used to the width and amd still wary of narrow parks and roads lol.
The split mirrors work though as the bottom convex portion is great for lower down wide view and the large top portion is .......large!
The mirrors I've purchased are fitted with LED indicators with clear lens so I am looking forward to wiring them in which shouldn't be to hard as I'll piggy back off the door indicators!
The yin to the yang is that when driving at night and a car is behind you, there is no escaping the headlight glare! As the mirror is so large, one can't simply move ones head out of the reflection!
All in all, I may have traded off the memory and reverse downwards functions but will gain indicators. As we intend to tow our van more regularly and they were excellent condition for cheap, I'm happy.
Pic is from web for comparison and is not my car, but is same colour and same mirrors without indicators.
Cheers Ralph
I only tow a camper trailer so was not worried about the width/size of my mirrors when I was offered a set of these. They should serve you well. Regarding the headlights of following cars at night - that's a good reason to park the van and stay off the road.
Cheers, Dale
