Alarm going off for no good reason

Hi everyone. I just purchased a Disco 4 MY12 on Thursday and last two nights the the alarm is going off with the car parked in the driveway. First night around 9:30PM last night around 10PM. Each time after the alarm I just left it unlocked so it didnt pi55 off the neighbours. Today I noticed the interior light on when driving and got a warning when starting the car that says the passenger front door is open when it is actually closed. I opened closed the door 5-10 times and the warning went away. Would an Auto Elec be able to fix this or should i book it in with the local Land Rover Dealer?
    Cheers, Tony

The codes will tell you which sensor is faulty. Typically it’s the bonnet.

Alarm going off for no good reason

Considering the Front door ajar indication, it’s the door sensor. A not very common, although is known, fault.

Thank you both. Yes I shorted the bonnet sensor as a first step in troubleshooting to eliminate it from being the cause. Seems to be reporting door open when the car has been out in the sun. Then when it cools down in the evening it reverts and I figure this change of status is what triggers the alarm when the car is locked and armed.
No hope of getting anyone to look at it so close to xmas so will chase it up after.
    Thank you for the replies.

The sensor is buried inside the catch mechanism. When you pull one apart you’ll see what I mean. A replacement door lock mech will solve your issue.
