    Centre console top

My centre console has started fretting away - annoying, as it irritates the arm...

I’ve scoped our a replacement part, though they tend to be a bit pricey. Is this something others have experienced? Or do I have some super acidic elbow?

Is this something that can be repaired?

You can get a new leather trim piece, again not exactly cheap GREY STITCH GENUINE LEATHER ARMREST COVER FITS LANDROVER DISCOVERY 3 4 LR3 LR4 | eBay but maybe cheaper than a new/used lid.

Thanks - yep, saw those, but worried they would look a bit naf. I like the ‘stock’ look ;-)

    A fair chunk cheaper though!

Mine also so I think covering it is the way to go. If you take to a marine or auto trimmer a very good job should be possible in whatever leather or material.

I had mine recovered by a motor trimmer, and it came up a treat. From memory it cost about $200. I removed it and left it with them for the day. I also repaired the broken plastic underneath before it got recovered.

Leather Armrest Console Lid Cover Fits Land Rover Discovery LR3 LR4

    Hi,
    I had this exact problem
Just finished this small project today

    Purchased this product on Ebay
Leather Armrest Console Lid Cover Fits Land Rover Discovery LR3 LR4 06-16 Black

    https://ebay.us/aLUo5P

    A$39.95

    Two days delivery

One day to fit - worst part was getting all the old one off.
A professional can probably do a better job, I have added some additional padding, which means it does not look 100% stock.
I have attached a few pictures

    Finished results

    What arrived
    IMG_4358.jpgIMG_4359.jpg
Dismantled Lid - not there are two screws hidden under the two rubber stoppers next to the latch

    Finished lid before fitting

    Regards,
    Richard

I ended up replacing with a genuine new top - not cheap, but looks tip top again :-)

Now I’m noticing the top of the doorcard, where my right elbow rests, is wearing thin... any pro tips out there?
