I’m a user of Penrite HPR 5 5w-30 full synthetic.

Wouldn’t run Castrol based on previous experiences.

Oils?..Jeez, everyone's got an opinion, & fair enough, and they're all different.
I reckon that if you use any of the major brands of the type & viscosity recommended for your engine, you cannot go wrong.

I use Nulon but agree with the above. If it meets the spec then it's down to personal preference really.

Not quite true. An example Harking back to the Td5-

Mobil One oil meets the spec.
Penrite HPR Diesel 5 meets the spec.

The engines using Mobil One show increased levels of wear on the injector cam lobes. Those running Penrite do not.

Oils only need to meet the minimum spec, some have better additive packs and have extra benefits.

IIRC the Mobil One oil didn't meet the A1/B1 part of the spec for the TD5 oil which was required for the unit injectors.
