And to add to the decision making, there is also Valvoline FE 5w 30,that is Ford spec.

My Indie has used it in D3/4,Puma,etc,for many, many years with no issues.

It has been in both my D4 and the Deefer since they were new.

    Readily available.

I reckon that if you use any of the major brands of the type & viscosity recommended for your engine, you cannot go wrong.

I'm not reading yet another "which engine oil should I use" thread, so the above sums it all up.

Yes and at the end of the day, if you do not have an engine failure or do not do oil testing, how do you know one oil is better than another. Just go with a major brand of the correct spec.

PENRITE PENRITE PENRITE My 2016 Mazda bt 50 engine failed at 55000 ks after being serviced by Goldfields Off Road (a Repco dealer in WA). Without going into the whole story, they stuffed up the service big time including putting the wrong penrite oil in. Mazda Australia, Goldfields, Allianz(Goldfields Insurance Coy) all denied warranty with lies, double talk, etc being their way out. After about 9 months of Fighting all of them I found out about the wrong oil. An online discussion with Penrite solved the problem and I was paid out by Allianz- .Penrite told it as it was-- The use off this oil in your vehicle would most likely cause the damage as described.I owe them for being both frank and honest and will always use their products where possible. Also, to get anywhere, I had to go to Allianz direct (as a third party in a claim ) as Goldfields just lied. A call to Repco Australia about their Australia wide warranty was a waste of time as I was told their dealers only pay to use the name and all warranty is carried by the servicing dealer.

The big thing to look out for on the 3.2 is a minimal drain/refill time otherwise the oil pump loses its prime.
That caught a few garages out early on

They failed to refit the bypass valve in the oil filter cap as well as putting petrol only oil in. When I got the engine rebuilt I got them to fit a higher capacity gear type oil pump instead of the troublesome variable vane type
