That is for the US. Don't know if we will see the the petrol units, But it might be good for us with the 3.0 powerstroke. I'm thinking we will see them as the next ranger is also an amarok and I doubt vw will want to drop the v6 diesel.

Still was a 4X4 but not so huge and overpowering as an F truck/RAM etc. He said it was last of the series with Cummins and they all have the V8 Patrol petrol engine now. Still prefer my D4!
Sounds like a mate of mine, he's down there doing reconnaissance for Targa Tasmania. He has the Titan for towing his "boat" (Nissan R33 GT-R)

Yes and the "gas" or petrol engine for the D3 is the Ford_Cologne_V6_engine, same as used in the Ford Explorer "

    Ranger Engines

Lady we know at pony club just bought a Ranger new..had the choice of the 2l bi turbo or last of the 3.2l 5 cyl 6 speed (argh) models.

She agonised about the choice but in the end the salesman said for the long term ie beyond the 5 yr warranty the 5cyl was the better bet for towing durability.

He told her the 2l bi turbo was proving unpopular with new car buyers and as a result Ford would be soon releasing a v6 turbo diesel model ...guessing the Lion engine...AND a petrol engine from the Mustang.

Friend did not know which petrol engine that would be tho.

    Anyone know?

I thought all new model rangers had the 8sp box. Daughter is trying to convince me to buy her 6sp so she can upgrade to the 8sp new model.

Bi turbo is 10 speed...the old model 5 cyl is 6.

I also thought her car would be 8 spped..but it said 6 on the side. I advised fitting a cooler as she hauls some big arsed horses!

She said the bi turbo 10 speed drove real nice but figured there's no replacement for displacement so shelled out 57k for the old model.

Looking at the Ranger I think our much cheaper D4 250kw 8 speed is waaay better value....and it tows like a dream☺

At least she got a full warranty tho which could come in handy given the 6 speed reputation for running hot and having valve body issues if over cooked.

Still would like to know what petrol option Ford is looking at.
