Likely are genuine. Dealers have been doing the R&R service for a while. Where they remove yours, fit a refurbished OEM set and then yours get refurbished for the next vehicle.

OK,i was talking new,not R&R.

If going R&R,the customer should be told......

My Indie also recently said they have been having some success lately with another type of bush,but seniors disease came along and i have forgotten the type
They were just doing a few as a trial.
They have used other brands before,but with no success.Always OEM.

You are luckier than I. My MY13 SDV6 cracked the RH inlet manifold on a recent trip. We travelled 300km in cripple mode before shedding $1650 to an indie to change the manifold. Total kms to date 195,000.

Always OEM on those bushes for sure.
Everything else is a compromise of NVH and articulation.
Some are rigid enough to cause failures as are starting to occur.

Regarding crankshafts; diesel Jaguars do break them, because they have the same bad design. From my research, the "engineers" that designed the motor either forgot to put anti rotation tags on the main bearings, or decided that using crush would be enough to stop them rotating. At a random time, usually when it is working hard, a main bearing moves enough to block off the oil supply to that bearing, which soon seizes and crankshaft breaks. There are a few sites on the web devoted to this problem; South Africa being one.

As I understand it, you do not need to replace the crankshaft, just the main bearings with tabs and a suitably modified cap. This might be done without pulling the motor.
