Hi All
I have a 2011 HSE, only owned it about 3 months and noticed today that the parking lights come on (front) whilst i brake.
Has anyone got any ideas as to why?
I was thinking an earth problem but have no idea where to start on the Disco.
Any help very much appreciated.
Kym

SubscriberGoogle "Linear Electronic Design" which is required for many European vehicles when towing. The chap who makes them (in Victoria) has a Disco 4 and is very helpful. Your vehicle may not be equipped with one or not have had a similar modification done. There are other ways of achieving same result but I have found it easier to buy his.

Thanks I have seen this before, especially for LED lights on trailers
kelvo "Do you have a electric brake controller at all? Also when the parking lights came on did you have a trailer attached?
The D4 socket wiring colours do not follow the Australian plug/socket colours."
Yes it does have a tekonsha controller fitted and no trailer fitted lately
So I followed this PDF posted by LRD414 and looks to have fixed it. I made the mistake of combining the LR tail lights into the one pin (7) so now I have the black (LH tail LR plug) going into the Aust pin 7 and the brown (RH tail LR plug) going into Aust pin 5 for brake controller.
I'll hook a trailer and up and hope it works later.
Thanks heaps guys I didn't think the trailer plug would have caused this but we live and learn and appreciate the forum
Strange things happen with electrics. When I was a boy (a bloody long time ago now) my father had a Morris 1100 which, when hooked up to the trailer, and the plug connected, would keep the engine running if you had your foot on the brake. You could literally turn the ignition off and take the key out. As far as I can recall he never did find out why.
