oil seeping thru silicon I/C hoses TDV6

    Gday All,

Have notice an oil mist type residue on the I/C that comes up to the inlet side infront of the Y piece. I today notice a film on the bottom corner shrouds below both this hose and the one on the other side that feeds the turbo. on inspection a small amount of oil ran out of the bottom of the drivers side hose where it attached to the I/C and none to speak of from the passenger side , BUT , both hoses were covered in an oil mist.

There is no other noticable oil anywhere so can only assume its seeping thru the silicon of each hose. I fitted them about 8 yrs ago so not sure if they have a use by date.

    Anyone else having this issue.

JC's advise to me with our D4 TDV6 was to replace the intercooler hose regularly as they tended to leak after time.
I found it cheaper to buy a set of the Britpart (yeah, I know) blue silicone intercooler hose kit (included three hoses) rather than a single replacement genuine hose. Time will tell if it' a better or silly investment based on quality and longevity.
