    Stuck in Super Extended mode

So went to start removing the compressor to refresh desiccant and end cap due to a suspension fault coming on, which I now think is more of a valve fault.

I placed stands under the chassis while the suspension was in Off-road height and went to lower back down, but now I am stuck in Super extended mode. Each time I try to lower the car it comes up with the Suspension Fault, so I turn off the engine and try again but to no avail.

Is there a valve that can be accessed to lower it back down, or is this all in the compressor? I don’t want to start work on the compressor until I can get the car to lower again.

    Cheers
    Jonathan

You’ll need to drive it first then it would lower itself down if you’ve not played with the height sensors. Otherwise it would think you’re stuck and keep you on extended mode for a while.

Thanks all, took it for a spin along the driveway up to 50km/h and it has lowered although it still keeps asking to select a height so it must still be up near off road height at the rear.

Measuring from the top of the 19 inch rim to the top of the wheel arch the front distance is 215mm and the rear 250mm.

To get a useful measurement you measure from the hub centre to the wheel arch. Do that and report back

    Front 466
    Rear 485

Have you tried cycling the height switch after that? Or it wouldn’t allow you to do so?

As soon as I try to lower, the suspension fault light comes on and the light turns off on the switch.

Sounds like it’s detecting no sensor input or output. Do check all your connections again.

    Just measured after having been driven today and levels have settled to;
    Front 465
    Rear 490

Getting the codes read from the service at the independent has come up with this
    Ride level control module
C1A13-64 Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery

Doing a quick search I have located a valve that might do the trick, Discovery 3 4 Sport Range Rover Air Compressor Valve Repair Hitachi Pump | eBay

Obviously this is the preferred option if you can replace the valve compared to replacing for a new compressor

It’s less likely to be the valve and more likely the desiccant canister is blocked. The filters are probably full of dust from the desiccant breaking down. Air passes in and out through the canister so the air down is probably struggling to exit.
