Definitely possible. But was trying to think of easier options to try first.

The vehicle seems to go very well <like sh*t of a shovel>, so I think your turbos are working well. As previous posters have mentioned, it is most likely some part ancillary to the turbos which is causing the problem.
Maybe get a kit to make the car recognise the trailer. They have been mentioned before in the forums, somebody might chime in with the name.

Mine did the sabe thing for the first time yesterday too.
It’s a 2016 TDV6.
I was towing my caravan and after approx 4 hours on the road, travelled through some particularly hilly country when the restricted performance alarm appeared.
There was no restricted performance to the engine though. Still powered away perfectly.
I did stop, turn off the engine but not for long enough as the fault remained. Fault cleared after I left the vehicle off for a longer period.
Hope I don’t have turbo issues...
