I believe they are made in either China or Taiwan but having ADR approval means they should be ok.

$144.00 cheaper than the Mitch Hitch, also ADR compliant. Includes new tounge and ball too.
Anyone used this setup? Any comments on how it compares to the Mitch Hitch?
The only previous reference I've found on AULRO is in Disco 3 tow hitch install, reversing sensors always on which really only discusses that the reverse parking sensors are always on on a D3 with this fitted.

Yes and in the past have also been sold through other outlets (ebay?) for much cheaper than the same item sold through LR outlets like those listed above - however their listings have always been hit and miss. The LR outlets know of the Mitch Bros product and price to under cut, even though their product is made in China where Mitchell Bros is made in Sydney.
Just need to search and you may find the Chinese product much cheaper.

Mine is the recovery brand hitch replacement. I bought it 2nd hand and I’ve had no problems at all with it. Easy to fit, pretty self explanatory really. It uses the same mounting idea but looks different. Seriously, no problems. Plus being ADR compliant meant that your insurance company will be happy with you.

I saw one on a D4 in Perth today (also had what looked like a pretty good home made rack with a Front Runner ladder- anyone on here??) it looked ok but certainly bigger overall than the Mitch Hitch.

I purchased mine new 2 years ago. Simple to install. Comes with good instructions and a sticker for inside the drivers door with load ratings on it. The receiver shanks on the tongue are solid cross section (not hollow) and the welds look good. Powder coated black. I'm happy with my purchase. Got it over the counter at British Off Road. I'd rather purchase the hitch that tows my van from a bricks and mortar retailer. Personal choice - Matti

I've tried both. Bought the Recovery one first and it was fine, except I had a Stone Stomper with our Mitchell camper which didn't really fit to it very well. There was too big a gap between the car and the flaps on the front of the Stone Stomper, so I bought and fitted the Mitch Hitch. The Stone Stomper fitted better to the Mitch Hitch.
The biggest difference I found between the 2 was the height of the ball. With the Recovery Hitch the ball height was spot on with the supplied tongue whereas with the Mitch Hitch, I had to buy a tongue and it had to be one that dropped the height of the ball quite a lot. Wasn't a cheap purchase either.
Cheers

Looks like a good alternative to me, does it stick out as much as the Mitch Hitch? That is probably the only thing that's putting me off at the moment.

The other question in my mind is anyone experienced or aware of the Land Rover hitch coming away under load?
