    You guys won’t regret it

Agree with above that the U2 setting feels best. Keen to hear your feedback.

It is electronic crack - once fitted there is no going back.

Accidentally turned mine off whilst driving and thought the car had died for a moment - then remembered to press the throttle harder. Throttle controller Throttle controller

Finally got around to having another go at fitting my iDrive (post 29), tried the wriggling, holding tongue in right place etc with no luck. In the end I managed to get my hand in above the throttle plug and just PUSH it finally went into the correct home position so now all good..

    regards

Hi Guys. I've been loosely following this thread but have always been weary of these "input modifier" style units, as opposed to a proper remap etc...

So these units modify the go pedal inputs to remove lag etc? The engine ECU still has its usual protections/limits in terms of boost, EGT etc?

I had a remap on my old TD5 that whilst it went well, EGTs went way too high. I don't want to risk that again just for a bit of extra poke.....

It doesn’t do anything other than reprogram the pedal essentially. It doesn’t affect anything about the ECU or it’s program.

It does however affect fuel economy on the more brisk settings, but I’m good with that as it is much nicer to drive

It changes the attenuation curve on the drive-by-wire throttle inputs into the ECU.

It has nothing to do with the engine performance, ECU tables or the like.

What Brian said, just changes the throttle response curve. I’m interested to see how much the fuel economy is affected, my AT’s add about 1.0l/100km to the already optimistic value. To me if it improves response it must be a good thing.
