    Disco3 V8 Trans

Hi all, first post so hopefully Im in the rite place. Im considering buying a v8 Disco 3. In saying this I am also considering the 2.7 Couple of questions,
    1. Are the trannies more prone to failure in the v8?
    2. Also wondering how they go in water or after driving on the beach. Always had dramas with my petrol GU Patrol running like a bag of Sh! when wet.
    3. Any common problems with them to look out for. (V8 specific)

    Thanks

    I've recently purchased a 2005 D3 V8 as a second car to the 2014 TDV6
My experience so far has been that the 4.4L V8 seems very well matched with the 6 speed box.

I haven't seen anything to suggest the 6 speed transmission is any more "at risk" with the V8 than any other engine.

Water crossings of course always depend on how deep and for how long but are not generally a major risk if you stick to the wading depth of 700mm
Bigger risk is pressure washing the engine bay especially up around and behind the battery.
    Basically just don't do it.

I'm interested to hear about any common V8 issues too.
I think maybe there's some plastic cooling components that are worth changing (similar to the TDV6)

    Cheers,
    Scott

Probably closer to 12 because the one trip to date included some steep climbing to the Bunya Mountains.
