Hello and Happy New Year!
Was changing a puncture the other day and dang it, a wheel nut snapped. It's been cracked for a while I suspect as you can see.
This nut had always been a bit 'bent'. Now I know why. The progress of corrosion inside the crack has swelled and progressively forced that side of the nut open.
Anyhow, does anyone in North West Brisbane have one (or a couple) they could part with? I'm happy to travel but most wreckers and my usual suppliers are a 45 min drive away....which is a lot for a nut lol.
I do change my wheels a few times a year to fit my BMW muddies, and I notice that solid nuts can be purchased online.
Has anyone had any experience with these? As we all know, the stainless caps on the OEM nuts are an 'annoyance' when used often and deform.
Cheers
RJ

I bought a set of solid ones about 4-5 years ago to avoid this issue and the more common swelling and breakage of the cover seen on the factory ones. They’re still fine with just a bit of surface rust so assume they’re coated. Gorilla brand from the US was the main trusted source back then.

I hope you have not been using your LR wheel nuts with the BMW wheels - the LR nuts with the BMW wheels do not have enough threads in contact to be safe.
I use these nuts - Gorilla® 14mm x 1.5 Chrome Lug Nuts from Brandsport Auto Parts (#68148)
