    D4 the size question

I’ve worked out that my Speedo is 6% out. GPS shows 99-100kmh when the car displays 106kmh.

I’m looking at going to 18” wheels anyway, so...if i change my standard 255/55/19 to a 265/65/18 (31.6”, and 5.3% larger than standard) am I right in assuming that the speedo should read fairly well correct?

Also, will I need 1.5” Johnson lift rods?

    Yes that’s correct.

Vehicle should be fine at all heights with that size. And I’d avoid rods.... Llams or Xlifter or use the Gap tool.

Your ODO will be the same % out and you will need to deflate the spare if you want it underneath.

Or you could go to 265/60/18,which is closer diameter to OEM.

    ??

If my speedo is currently reading 6% over the true speed and I use a tyre that’s 5% larger than OME I would have thought that my speedo should be pretty much spot on.

I’m happy to deflate the spare. I carry a compressor in the car at all times anyway.

Things like this make my OCD brain happy. I installed a Di Hunter Speedo Correction box on the D2 when I fitted 265/60/16 so the speedo was exact to the km. That took my ashes to greet the settings right.

Your speedo will get closer to actual.
Your odometer will then be out by ~5%

You can fix it all in the CCF with Gap...

Oh sorry. I was getting Odometer and speedo confused in my head. That makes sense, speedo will be right and odometer will be 5.3% out.

I run 265/65/18 and Speedo is bang on 100 when IÂ’m doing 100. IÂ’ve measured this on 3 different GPS devices.
Your measurements ( Maths) donÂ’t lie

This matches my results. I've found both our two MY12 D4's are actually doing 110km/h when the speedometer reads at 116km/h.

I did not realise that the speedo and odo were set differently. I assumed that if the one was out by x% then the other would be the same too. Interesting.

AFAIK if you change the tyre size or adjust the speedo with the GAP tool you by default alter the odometer as well. I am unaware that you can can both individually. I changed my tyre to 265/65/18 and at 100kph it is almost spot on. When doing Ltr per 100K I adjust the distance as per the odometer/trip computer by 6%.

The usual "as built" speedo setting for our market is set at 3.5% below actual and at +2kph.

Although each of these parameters has a number of settings, it appears as if there are only two main market settings. In Genesis, this is displayed under Jaguar Speedometer Calibration Market which can be found under the Warnings and Messages tab. The choices are:
    Market 0: 3.5% + 2kph
    Market 1: 2.0% + 0kph
Accordingly, if "as built" setting is Market 0, then the following parameters are also factory set:

    Jaguar KPH Offset: +2kph
    Jaguar Percentage Scaling Factor: 3.5%

For my vehicle I changed all three settings as follows:

    Market 1: 2.0% + 0kph
    Jaguar KPH Offset: 0kph
    Jaguar Percentage Scaling Factor: 2%
    This gives a spot on speedo on 19” 255/55/19 and 18” 265/60/18
I haven't tested it, but I would assume the odometer is correct as well.
