I asked similar question 2 months back. Here is link to thread.

Replacing cranking and yellow top battery with Lithium's?

I'm sticking with AGM for the present BUT, I am taking a trip to Mt Tamborine at the back of the Gold Coast TOMORROW ( as chance would have it which is where DCS is based), the 15th Jan. I was going to drop into DCS as well.

If anyone want's me to ask DCS any specific questions for them, ask tonight and I'll enquire on your behalf.

Hmmm, maximum temperature operating range 80C.

This is much higher than the normal 60C, but could get marginal in hot weather.

There is a scientific test of Lithium batteries which show a much shorter life when they are stored at high temperature. I guess it would depend on the amount of use the car got. Probably a round OZ trip wouldn't help the battery much but occasional use would be OK.
Very expensive at $1450 on their site .

To be economical you need them to last at least 3 times a lead acid battery. So 10 years+.
Under the bonnet is most probably one of the worst environments for a battery. Lithiums especially don't like heat.
I haven't got a problem with the batteries. I have 2x 100ah DCS batteries behind the second row of seats and an AGM starter under the bonnet.
I thought about under the bonnet for the DCS but went for behind the seats for increased life span.

Nope, keeping out of this one.

I must be honest, I like these types of threads, because people get to see the REAL costs and I then end up with a run of orders.

I will be interested in what the OP reports back!

Hi Folks and first off, my apologies to the OP, he was not visiting Tamborine Mountain, it was actually Briar who was planning the visit.

To that end, any update on your visit Briar?

LiFEP04 batteries are more economical that Lead acid/AGM .. and a damn sight lighter!!
They also perform more effectively when they get warmer.
They are very happy with a fast charge and they are happy with a very high discharge.
They won't catch fire .. not even if punctured.
It would however be advisable to keep them in a well ventilated area, or have some form of air ducting and insulation around the battery if installed within the engine bay.
I've got 2x 100ah LiFeP04's in my caravan as well .. been there 6 years, in excessive heat at times, and they are as good today as the day I installed them, if not better.
