Hoping to hear from people who regularly chain up. I know I'm getting ahead of myself but not being able to go to Hotham at all last year and my annual Japan trip (was supposed to be NOW!) cancelled - it's been a while since I've done some white lines

The user manual says to put the chains on the rear wheels but in my last 4wd I always put them on the front. Safer for steering and braking. I've seen people put them on the front of Disco's before too but don't recall the brand/type of chain nor if it was a D3 or D4 if there's a difference. So I measure up in my drive way.

Obviously unable to drive more than a few meters at crawl pace I cannot be sure but there's about 2mm clearance. Anyone have any thoughts? I don't think there's no way it could damage any sensors or the air suspension like some have mentioned. At worse it might occasionally rub on nut pictured. Plenty of clearance around the wheel well with standard 255 55 R19 tyres (though this may put a stop to me going up a tyre size on 18s later).

wheel well clearance. this is the smallest clearance part but I doubt it would pose a problem with the standard tyre size
