Uncommanded Global Opening and Other Things

    Hello All,

I have had some intermittent faults on my 2012 D4 TDV6 for some time now. Occasionally when opening using the keyfob all of the windows will open, this is without pressing the open button for 3 seconds (global opening) also a couple of times the car has locked itself with the key inside, luckily there has always been somebody inside.

I have also had the alarm going off randomly when I open or lock the car with the keyfob, despite the instrument panel not showing an open bonnet warning, I have checked and cleaned the bonnet switch

I put some of the issues down to my aftermarket keyfob cover, (the membrane button extensions were too long and it was too sensitive, so I shaved them down), I replaced it with a genuine LR one and the problem persists.

I thought rainwater may be the cause but it still happens when it has been dry for several weeks.

    Any thoughts?

I do not have a scan tool but the car is due for a service soon at my local indy and I will ask them to see if they can pull some codes.

    Thanks for reading.

Try taking the battery out of that key and using your spare. See if the problems persists.

I suspect that fob is a problem so remove it from being able to affect the system by removing the battery and use the spare.
