On the Disco 2 it's possible to pull the front driveshafts and hubs off still attached together (wheel off, brake caliper and anchor bracket off, disc rotor off, ABS line disconnected and four bolts to release the hub from the upright). Is this also possible with the Disco 4 setup?
The D4 workshop manual has the brake setup and hub remaining fitted to the vehicle for the front half shafts removal.

It tends to get in the way!
Hub is bolted to hub carrier with drive shaft travelling through them with a big nut at the end.
Hub carrier has control arms and steering links and wheel speed sensor and brake caliper attached.
Of interest the inner CV joint can be separated if you loosen the boot. Might help you.
To remove the hub you need to remove the brake calliper and brake disc as well as the ABS sensor. CV hub nut can then be undone and the 4 hub bolts and the whole hub can come off. The CV cant come out through the spindle as its too big. Need to undo the spindle from the lower control arm along with the sway bar link from memory, then you can swing the spindle up out of the way so the driveshaft can come out

Remove the hub nut and pull the hub off, then swing the inner CV to one side and then pull the shaft out from behind.
