    Trailer Switch

I've got the resistor installed to tell the car I have a trailer attached but I was wondering what are the implications of leaving it on all the time? I understand it implements a few changes like, indicator light on the dash, Trailer sway assist, shift protocols may change a bit etc and of course it stops the blinking trailer lights but if left on will it do any actual harm? In the "What happened to your D3/D4" thread there are few comments about "I always forget to turn it on".

No reverse buzzers is the big one that makes me flick the switch. My switch is inside the panel..I love it. When it's on trailer mode the boat is effortless and perfect.. When it's off the car is normal. If I leave it on. The car is used to the extra load and holds gears for a few days until it learns not to. Which in turn ruins my towing experience, as it takes the same to learn it's there again.

Certain TR functions don’t integrate either…

When the parts to do it right are $25 why would anyone short cut?

Fair enough with all those answers. Thought I would pose the question though.

    Never wrong to ask questions.
