    High milage SDV6

I have the opportunity to purchase a very tidy D4 SDV6 has good service history but nearly 300k on the clock.
Question is ...has it gone past it’s used by date or does she still have kms under the bonnet to another few kms ?

Only guess work on how it will go. Have a good look at the service records.

If you dont intend to do any repairs yourself, dont go near it.

If you can do some yourself, make sure you find a good Indie that can do the repairs you cant do.

The reality is there will certainly be some issues at that sort of mileage, and age.Vehicle will be off the road, etc.

Just have to weigh up what you want to do.

    Good luck with it all.

I’d plan on doing some jobs like the oil cooler immediately so take your savings and jump right in to these sort of jobs including gearbox servicing and all fluids etc.

    I am already there

My 2011 D4 HSE has 303,059 on the clock as of yesterday.......it has been serviced as per the LR Arduous Duty schedule i.e. every 13,000km since new. It is my daily driver and continues to keep the smile on my dial and I have had no issues issues that would make me want to part with it.

As others have already indicated the service history is all important and without a solid, documented service history I would not touch it. Equally a good 'up to date' LR mechanic is the other element that you need access to. If the vehicle has been serviced and the wear and tear parts replaced as needed then the KM's should not be an issue, mind you those KM's will dramatically affect the price hopefully in your favour.

what do you do every 13,000km? I get an indie to do the official log book service per LR advice every 12 months/~20,000km. and in-between I change the oil, oil filter, air and cabin filter. so it gets an oil change every 6 months or 10,000km. should I be doing more during my self service?

95% of the servicing on this one has been done at the dealer or equally as good Land Rover service outlet..
