can the AMK compressor be serviced?

So like literally everyone else on this forum at the moment I'm starting to get a suspension fault 'pressure does not decrease when venting gallery'. At the moment turning the car off and on again and the fault goes away and I can change heights but I imagine it will slowly become more severe. So I decided to take off the APT compressor guard and the compressor housing to check what type I have. Sadly it's the AMK, not the much raved about Hitachi.

Can it be serviced? or at the very least is the desiccant canister the same and I can service/replace it?

As an aside, the housing was solid full of dirt and sand. I have no idea how so much got into it as there's very little in the way of openings!

Not as serviceable as a Hitachi but there are drier service kits available.

    Hi,

I had the same code and replaced the compressor (AMK) and it was not the issue. I repaced each of the valve blocks independantly and the last valve block was the culprit. The centre unit behind the compressor.

FYI, i have my original CMK unit, that has had a sevice kit through it(dessicant, O rings, filters) and was replaced at 66k. Its in perfect condition if you would like to know more.

    cheers
    Geoff

I just ordered a replacement centre block as I've replaced the front and rear (they were sinking.) Now I'm getting a compressor error after a service - hopefully that'll do it

essentially I need to know if the drier/desiccant canister is the same between the two compressors so I can use for example the drier service kit from X8R. I did send them an email but they weren't sure.

Between amk and Hitachi ?, no completely different. No parts interchange.
