Windscreen replacement - recommendation in Perth?

Well, I guess it was inevitable with all the country driving I do. Driver's side caught a small stone along Albany Hwy in one of the numerous roadwork sections last weekend.

From what I can tell, the screen is the original Pilkington factory build. Being an HSE with rain and light sensors, and aftermarket snorkel, I'm looking for a repairer/replacer who will do a proper job and make sure it all goes back to factory standard or better.

It's insured with HBF/CGU and note the PDS states "equivalent parts" but I'll be pushing for genuine if I can.

    Recommendations?

I have a 2013 HSE and I got mine done at Windscreens O'Brien a few years back. Mine was a chip and small star shaped crack. They tried a repair but it was in line of sight and was a pain even though it was only a minor spot when finished so they replaced the screen. I insisted on original glass and got it. I'm with NRMA in NSW so I don't know about your insurance company. NRMA told me that they will continue to pay for original as long as they are available. You may have trouble sourcing an original part though. Push back if they argue.

Don't forget to get all the clips holding the trim in place replaced as well as they will fail if you don't and the trim will fly off.

Had mine done used aftermarket as no genuine screens around,no worries at all.
More of a worry is the trims, and getting the job done properly.

O'Brien's it is. I've asked for a genuine screen, but if there's none in Perth, then so be it. They're going to get back to me.

My missus just had her 2010 RAV4 done with a Fuyao aftermarket. Perfectly fine - apart from the light contact resin left on it from the protective packaging film. It took a second visit to the installer to get it properly cleaned with some sort of solvent.

As you say - getting the job done properly is the issue.

I think I have some genuine clips spare after one of the side trims blew off one day.
Close inspection shows the side seals starting to harden and decay, and the screen is lightly pitted. Could all be a blessing in disguise.

O'Brien did mine, but couldn't be there when it was done. Some time later, I had to pull the trim off and found they had just used big dobs of 'sikaflex' at each of the clips. I'd make sure you're present when it's done.

Or take them off and refit them yourself.

IIRC, the driver's side has got 3 or 4 stainless bolts through it, holding the snorkel bracket. I don' think it's going anywhere.

I did have the top seal/trim come out one day. Nearly lost all of it. But warm day and some silicone dobs sorted it. Might cause the fitter a problem this time.

O,Briens in Morley - had mine done about 6 months ago, and they actually keep the clips in stock! Very impressed with service/professionalism.

Mine was replaced with a genuine item by the RACWA. Fitted by Novus and then the rain sensor didn't work. RAC arranged for them to fit a new sensor. Then when we were on the road sometime after the side trim blew out giving the Cook a nasty shock. The only thing holding it in was the bottom bit tucked under the bonnet.
Thinking back I had to turn away when they ripped the side trims off..... just grabbed them at the top and yanked them downwards. Top clip was broken and one other was missing. I've replaced the missing clip but the thing still flips out when we get hit by a big side blast of air from a semi going in the opposite direction.
To stop that I've used electricians tape down it to hold it in as it's probably too late to complain to the insurer.

When they get ripped out the clip locations on the pillar can get raised outwards, tap flat again using a small block of wood and a light hammer, this will make the trim fit nice and tight to the windscreen. Nick
