 This doesn't seem right. The level of damping is not dynamically controlled. There's either air in the bags or there is not. The shock absorbers either work to specs or they degrade gradually over time. I suspect your suspension had dropped to the bump stops (or near to them) as the system was receiving incompatible signals. This was reset after your restart.
