    Unhappy crankshaft position sensor- "A"

I have a discover 08 4lt petrol. put the key in this morning, it did it self check all ok, then I turned the key and one click, didn't even pull the starter motor.
This avo put a scanner in, and it said P0335 crankshaft position senor A circuit in the stored and pending trouble code.
Question please if I may ask the bright people out there.
What is it, where is it and would it be the problem.

I assume you’ve done the basics.

Checked battery terminals right and battery is fully charged?

    Yep

yep sure have 13.45v battery in new condition.
joints all in good condition no volt drop on any of them.
Not the first time this has happened, but this time it doesn't turn over.
My wifes holden died and wouldn't start years ago, It turned out to be the crankshaft sensor .

Have you checked the starter itself, it might be pending a code because it's expecting the engine to turn over but the engine hasn't moved. Could be a simple starter relay it fuse or actual starter
