    D3 updating firmware using IID GAP tool?

    Folks,

    There are a lot of firmware updates available including the transfer case and rear diff.
    anyone know how to update said firmware using the IID GAP tool? I can see various ECU re-flash options but was very nervous about playing with those.

    Can somebody walk me through this please?

    You don't need all the updates especially since it will cost for each one, you can do it via the GAP website fastlane service.

    I've been in touch with GAP, not overly helpful.

    There are two patches I am going to get, one for the transfer case and the one for the rear diff.

    What is the process to re-flash the ECUs using the IID GAP tool? I'm assuming that once GAP send notification I can get the updated files I connect the GAP tool to the PC to download them and they become visible in one of the menu choices within the tool?

    Go and download the manual and have a read. I’m sure it’s covered in there

    Lol. Imagine a world where you weren’t spoon fed. I guess if someone else wants to regurgitate what’s in the manual that you could go and read, good for them. D3 updating firmware using IID GAP tool? Does no one do anything for themselves these days?

    all good Brad, I have since obtained the patches for the TC & e.diff, loaded those and calibrated the TC without issue.

    Patrick at GAP was most helpful.

    -Connect the IIDTool to your computer USBport
    -Start the updater software
    -Click ''Find Device''

    Select ''file namexxxx''and Click on ''Program Firmware''
    OR click on Program Flash Files Only if this button appears.

    -Wait until completion
    -Follow the instructions on screen in regards to the mobile App file loading.

    In your vehicle (in this order):
    -Menu->ECU Flash--Rear Diff
    -Menu->ECU Flash--TCCM Transfer Case
    -Menu--Calibration--TCCM Transfer Case,proceed with both items. More then one iteration may be needed

    Was just nervous about doing a reflash as I had not performed one before hence questions to those who had.

    Some seem to think they have a right to be complete you know whats.

    Forum should be about sharing experiences and looking out for each other not abusing people.

    Interesting type.

    cheers
    me

    There was a time - back when AULRO started that it was like that ( sharing experiences) but I think sometimes we all have to remember the forum is a representative sample of our community - it takes all types.
