I just went with the RDA normal rotor and they’ve also been great. They do a grooved one too. I don’t see the need TBH but each to their own.

In akebono and RDA combo, I've got the dimpled slotted. I do allot of towing and the price upgrade was minimal.

I bought mine from these guys. So cheap. I get heaps of gear from them..I paid $5 each for front wipers one order, genuine Bosch. They are awesome.

Hey Josh, Thanks for posting the link. They look a good option from my quick look. Though, looking at my year (2015) D4 it only list a a 3.0ltr V6 supercharged. I can only find the SD/TD V6 in the 2017 Discoveries. Anyway, I guess I'll contact them when I want to buy something to confirm.

    thanks Josh!
Have you had any issues with the slotted/dimpled rotors off road or with dirt and mud getting stuck in them?

Nah mate, don't do much mud, do sand occasionally. But never an issue.

Depending on what your buying just cross reference the parts is what I do. They only list for lr4 V8 from memory for my car. But I checked the akebono catalogue and the V6 diesel and V8 ran the same pads. Bit of extra work. But at those prices it's worth it.

Last Friday week (June 25th) I looked up previous Forum discussions on this subject and subsequently ordered a set of (Front) Akebono pads from Rockauto part number EUR1479 for my MY13 D4.

They shipped them same day as my order on their website, due next Wednesday, (roughly 7 working days) all up cost $137.00

On brakes I’d recommend DBA disc with pads of your choice. I had bendix heavy duty on dba t2 and they worked well. Less dust as compared to stock/genuine.
