    Tapping into dash lights

    Hello,

I’m adding a few Carling rocker switches to my 2006 Disco 3 dash and need to tap into the dash lights. For those of you that have done it, any tips/pics?

    Zac

Well the easiest way is to buy Narva piggyback fuses and find a fuse that has the desired characteristics eg ign or acc or whatever.
I have a D2 but I am sure the D3 will be similar.

I only want the rocker switches illuminated when the dash lights are on. My ciggy lighter doesn’t have lighting.

Just add a fuse tap to one of the lighting circuit fuses at the fuse box behind the glove box. Fuse 2 and 4 is for the side lamps.

Mine don't either. If you pull it out I guarantee the socket is there for it however.

Mine light up internally as in take plug out you can see it, as opposed to older style units that light around the perimeter.

    The plugs there though!

Mine do neither. The plug is on a dummy spade on the back of the plastic carrier. Took me a while to figure out why the plastic was plugged in.

I think there is an easy to get to illum wire that goes to the switch panel above the stereo, the one with the hazard in it, but it's been a while.....!
