Hi again Imaz and sorry but the above info means little without having voltage readings while the vehicles are in use.

You have a problem and it will directly relate to the voltages being provided by the alternator to different locations in your setup, while driving.

What colour sequence is occurring that has you concerned? I can't see any reference in the TowPro Elite manual to just a flashing red.

If the Tow Pro is indeed seeing low voltage then try bypassing the circuit breaker.

Flashing RED on/off while camper battery is being charged in BOOST stage, then becomes normal as the camper battery’s are in full stage. This happens in all vehicles. While the tow pro is flashing red, it’s operating is still functioning with braking etc. how does the battery charging and tow pro have any correlation is beyond me.

Will need to get the multi meter out to check while this happens, but it’s usually the time when we are departing...

Is the engine idling when the flashing occurs and if so does the flashing stop when revs are increased a little?

Could the flashing be due to excessive voltage according to the Tow Pro? LR's can run quite high voltage very close to the upper nominal 12V limit.

This is why I have suggested voltage monitoring while driving.

In imaz's situation, simply measuring the voltage with a multi meter is not going to give any indication of the voltages that are occurring while the D4 is being driven.

Those cigarette socket voltage meters will also be a waste of time.

Each battery needs to be monitored at the battery, but something like the BM2 Bluetooth Monitors, you can actually monitor the voltage at the input of any DC/DC device.

This would give a much more accurate indication of what the voltage is at the device, to see if it is actually high enough for the device to be able to put out its full charge current.

    Neither.

    Flashing red.

It does stop flashing when you disconnect the Anderson plug, OR when the camper battery is full.

Seems to be correctly earth through to the camper using the stock disco tow plugs/harness, as well as the Anderson plug. It would be overkill to run another set of earth from the car to the camper!

Here are some notes on my vehicle 1.

When the towpro elite is flashing red.

    1. Starting battery 13.63v
    2. In-house aux 40a dcdc in “Absorbing state” and aux battery 14.46v
    3. Camper dcdc 25a is in “boost state” and Battery 13.98v
    4. Tow pro elite circuit breaker at ~13.30v

When the towpro elite is stable normal condition:

    1. Starting battery 14.42v
    2. In-house aux 40a dcdc in “absorbing state” and battery 14.44v
    3. Camper dcdc 25a is in “absorbing state” and battery 14.50v
    4. Tow pro elite circuit breaker at 14.36v
