Thread: Smart Key Not Found. Dead KVM

Mine needed that replacing under warranty,did it intermittently for a while,then the dealer couldnt find the issue.

Eventually they sorted it.

Turns out my KVM had failed, from what I have heard Land Rover actually sell a good number of these modules. The cautionary tale here is if you are starting to see Smart Key Not found more often there is a fair chance you KVM will be the problem.

I've just mentioned this in another post...
*Pull the fuse for the KVM, fuse 17 (from memory), ponder life, then put it back. (no, its unlikely to be blown).
*I have had more fuse 17 needing pulled out then replacing than a failed KVM.
*Doing a battery disconnect wont do the same thing as pulling the fuse.

Yeah all the fuse stuff was done.

I am lucky my neighbor is a Land Rover Specialist and in the testing process the KVM was certainly the problem. New KVM and a reprogram and up and running.

I had checked codes on mine for other issues and the KVM had never come up either, It was clearly on its way out.
