    Mystery Solved

Thanks to everyone for their input I have now identified the nomenclature of this item, it is a "fuel pocket drain hose", readily available on Fleabay.

Can I indulge on peoples patience further, how and where do you fit the hose? I am stumbling will dropping the spare wheel enable me to see its point of attachment as the fuel filler shroud appears it is PIA to remove without destroying fasteners.

That is exactly what the hose is.

It attaches behind to a spigot on the back of the fuel filler area - you can see the hole just in front of the fuel cap.

It just directs spillage lower to allow it to drip clear of the vehicle.

I didn’t refit mine when I did the dual tanks as the new filler sat too close. Doesn’t impact much, a fuel drip just drops down in the void.
